Ultraviolet radiation
●Reasons for tire deterioration Over a long period of time, the sides of tires dry out, crack, and break apart.
This causes the tires to dry out and deteriorate.
It's also a big problem for owners of campervans, trailers and classic cars.
A detailed, scientific explanation of how 303 Aerospace is the solution to tire degradation.
Tire manufacturers blend additives to prevent degradation by ozone and UV rays.
Ozone is an odorless gas, but is commonly considered to be an "electrical smell."

It is found mostly in cities and manufacturing plants. Ozone is an invisible part of the air.
Without you knowing it, ultraviolet rays and ozone are causing rubber to deteriorate.

● Deterioration due to ultraviolet rays Ultraviolet rays (UV) are one of the invisible rays emitted by sunlight.
Problems caused by UV rays include yellowing and weakening fiberglass and weakening fabric.
Before UV light can cause harm, it must be absorbed and reflected.
If it is not converted into heat or transferred to nearby stabilizer molecules, it will destroy weak synthetic fibers and products.
This is where UV damage begins.
Some materials absorb UV light easily. Materials that absorb UV light easily are damaged quickly.

Rubber, vinyl, gelcoat fiberglass and many plastics.
Acrylic slowly absorbs UV light and will degrade accordingly.
UV stabilizers are a group of chemicals that have the ability to reflect or neutralize the harmful effects of UV light.
The 303 absorbent protects against UV rays by converting them into heat, making them harmless.
Other UV stabilizers work differently.
All UV stabilizers lose their effectiveness over time.

Two important points
1. If sustained UV protection is required, UV stabilizers must be regularly renewed or replenished.
However, there are no permanent UV stabilizers.

2. When UV light is absorbed, chemical bonds begin to break down, causing chalking, discoloration and decomposition.
Cracks resulting from UV absorption can cause "whole body" destruction.
It starts a chain reaction from what is visible on the surface (in front of the air) and then breaks and cracks deeper into the structure.
Thus, it is important to provide agents that provide UV protection and convert the energy of ultraviolet light into harmless heat (like black carbon does in tires).

●The need for UV stabilizers To prevent deterioration caused by ultraviolet rays during maintenance, an effective maintenance agent called a UV stabilizer is required.
Untreated rubber, vinyl and other plastics readily absorb UV light and are degraded.
303 is easily the best UV protection you can buy.
Using 303 will restore color and luster, making it look beautiful and lasting that way for a long time.

SPF40 (SUN PROTECTION FACTOR) FOR YOU
1. 303 is the most powerful UV protection product in the world.
Regular use will restore weakened UV protection and protect your valuables.
2. 303 protected vinyl repels dirt, dust, oil, wood sap and stains to maintain surface integrity.
3. With regular use, 303 will restore lost color and luster.
This makes the vinyl look and feel like new again and keeps it that way.
4. The stain-resistant effect of 303 keeps the surface clean for a long time and makes cleaning easier.
5. Easy to use: just spray and wipe off.
6. Safe for rubber, plastic, glass and paint. Contains no silicone oils or petroleum products.
7. Reapply: For maximum UV protection, reapply every 30-45 days of outdoor exposure.

303 Aerospace Protectant - Effects on tires

●UV rays and why tires are black UV rays are a type of invisible light Tires are black in color because they need to protect the rubber from deterioration caused by UV rays.
For this purpose, UV stabilizers called "absorbers" are used.
Captures and absorbs harmful UV light energy.
They are designed to convert harmful UV light wave energy into heat so it can dissipate harmlessly.
All tire manufacturers use absorbent material (carbon-black-and very cheap compound).
This is why tires are black and why tires cannot be chosen in other colors.
Other UV stabilizers are very expensive and cost prohibitive.

UV stabilizers wear out and gradually lose their ability to protect against UV damage.
When black carbon loses its ability to work, it turns gray.
You may have seen old tires and rubber that have turned gray or white.
This is because the skin has been damaged by UV rays and is no longer able to protect or resist them.

● Deterioration caused by ozone Tire manufacturers use waxes to protect against ozone.
As your tires expand and contract, the protective wax moves to the tire's surface.
This process, where the wax transfers to the tire surface by expanding and contracting to create a physical barrier between the air (ozone and oxygen) and the tire polymers, is called "blooming."
Blooming does not occur when the tires are not used regularly (not stretched - parked RVs, boat trailers or vintage cars, etc.).
Meanwhile, the ozone begins to eat away at the protective wax, eventually reaching the tire polymers.
The black surface carbon loses its ability to protect against UV rays and ozone and the tire dries out and cracks.

Other anti-aging agents: Petrochemicals and silicone oils will remove protective waxes and increase the rate of deterioration.
Common car protectants and "tire waxes" of any type generally offer no UV protection whatsoever and contain petrochemicals and silicone oils.
And despite appearances, it actually damages your tires.
In the event of a warranty issue, tire manufacturers will look for evidence of use of these types of products.
If use is found, the warranty will void the tire sidewalls (areas where the above products have been applied).

Fighting Ozone for Tires 303
303 Aerospace Protectant contains no problematic petrochemicals or silicone oils.
303 Aerospace Protectant is absorbed into the tire so that the wax protecting the tire does not get lost.
When absorbed, it complements the UV protection of the black carbon, providing powerful UV protection to the tire polymers.
Waterproof, does not attract dust and protects flexibility for long term use.
The 303 is able to absorb the ozone before it has a chance to attack the wax.
303 is a highly effective antioxidant and ozone protectant, making it the longest lasting, most powerful tire protective and beautifying treatment available.
Protectant for all other synthetic and natural rubbers.

● Tire blackness
Tires treated with 303 will have the natural, beautiful gloss black color of a new tire.
Tires treated with 303 will not have the shiny shine that tire wax gives.
Since it is not sticky like silicone oil, it does not attract dirt and has a natural shine that makes it look like new.

●How to keep your tires looking their best - How to use -
1. On a clean, dry tire sidewall, spray 303 Aerospace Protectant until the tire sidewall is completely wet with 303.
2. If excess 303 runs down the edge, wipe it off with a soft, dry cloth.
Do the same for each tire.
3. After 10-20 minutes (when dry), wipe each tire with a soft, dry cloth.
Complete. Your tires will be reborn as new rubber that you can see and touch. The life of a tire is the flexibility of the rubber!

●How to use for the first time or when the tires are too dry:
If the tires are too dry, a second treatment may be necessary.
To apply a second time, wait until the first coat of 303 has dried before repeating the process.

● Application interval
Regular use of 303 will completely prevent degradation by UV rays and ozone.
For cars parked outside, spray with 303 every 20 to 30 days.
It's a simple task, so do it whenever you notice it.
People who drive low distances will use one tire for about two years, during which time the tire will deteriorate and its performance will decrease.

303 is 100% safe for all types of tyres and all alloys (wheels).
Tires that are regularly treated with 303 will repel water and will be much easier to care for than untreated tires.

◆How are 303 products different from other products?
-What makes 303UV Protectant different from all other protectants?-
● Major Protection Brand Products contain silicone oils. They attract oily stains!
Some even contain petroleum distillates (petrochemicals).
It should never be used on plastic products containing rubber or vinyl groups.

Regular car "protectants" and "tire dressings (waxes)" do not contain any UV stabilizers, which are essential for tire protection.
303 Aerospace Protectant contains no silicone oils or petroleum distillates or other unsafe agents for rubber, vinyl and other plastics.

●Protector products from "Major Brands" do not include UV stabilizers, but 303 Aerospace Protectant does include a UV stabilizer.
UV stabilizers neutralize the harmful effects of UV rays, preventing yellowing and chalking.
Regular reuse can slow down deterioration and reduce harmful UV rays by up to 100%.
That's why it's called "SPF 40 for you"! It's the most powerful product available for blocking UV rays.
303 has been sold since 1980 as the world's premier surface treatment product, easily accessible to consumers.

● Many of the "major brand" protective products are oil-based, and the sticky oils attract dirt and grime, staining glass and chrome, and are very short-lived as their effectiveness wears off quickly once washed.
303 Aerospace Protectant is non-greasy and non-sticky, repels dust and dirt, and leaves a rich shine.
It won't easily fall off even after washing, and its effectiveness will last 10 times longer.

◆What does 303 Protectant do for leather products?
The results are amazing. It protects from oil and water, and also from UV rays.

●First, choose the product you want to use by identifying the type of leather.

Different products are used for treated and untreated (hygroscopic) leather!
If a drop of water leaves a dark spot, it is absorbent (untreated) leather.
Deerskin, suede and chamois are other leathers that absorb moisture.
Do not use 303 Aerospace Protectant on absorbent leather. Use 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard!
If you plan to use it on both sides, please be aware that there are many leather products that have a processed front but not a processed back, so be careful when using it.

●303 Aerospace Protectant is effective on finished and processed leather!
The majority of car interiors and trims are finished in leather.
"Finished leather" is dyed.
The finish is treated so that it does not readily absorb water or other liquids.
303 Aerospace Protectant softens callous leather and leaves it with a natural, shiny, non-oily finish.
Finished leather will deteriorate due to exposure to sweat, body oils, sunscreens and lotions.
Before vinyl became popular, sports equipment often consisted of leather, which was quickly damaged by sweat and body oils.
(Nowadays, many products are moving away from leather and towards vinyl, but vinyl is still susceptible to damage from sweat and body oils.)
The ultra-waterproof effect of 303 Protectant is absolutely effective on finished leather.
In addition to protecting against sweat, body oils and lotions, leather treated with 303 becomes virtually unaffected by water and oils.
The main benefit of using 303 is its UV blocking effect.
Very effective on dyes used in finished leather.
You can also use 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard on treated leather products (303 Aerospace Protectant will give it a glossy appearance).

●*Use 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard for untreated leather, deerskin, suede and chamois!
Use 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard to protect raw leathers including suede, deerskin and raw dyed leather.
Use on new or cleaned leather.
To use, spray and wipe off.
It provides waterproof and stain-resistant properties to protect against water stains and oil stains.
After spraying with 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard and letting it dry, the leather will retain its original appearance.
303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard can be used on all natural leathers, including finished leathers.
Unlike 303 Aerospace Protectant, 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard does not improve the color or shine of finished leather.
It ensures that the appearance is the same before and after the procedure.
For hiking boots and other outdoor footwear, 303's 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard is the only choice for the best waterproof performance.

◆Effect of 303 Protectant on fasteners - Delrin bonding -
Effective for plastic zippers (coats, sleeping bags, boat enclosures, etc.).
The fasteners are made from a durable, hard plastic called Delrin.
Delrin is a high quality material that is as hard as metal.
However, if it is exposed to a lot of UV rays, it will become less mobile over time.
To restore movement (instructions):
1. Close the zipper and spray it with 303 Aerospace Protectant.
2. Before it dries (immediately), move the zipper up and down or side to side.
3. Wipe clean with a dry absorbent cloth.
303 Aerospace Protectant is an excellent lubricant for Delrin fasteners in dry conditions.
It's back to working like new!
If you use 303 Protectant regularly, you will not experience any oxidation phenomenon.

◆303 Does Hi-Tech Fabric Guard waterproof the jacket (Gore-Tex)?
yes!
303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard provides special safety properties for Gore-Tex and other fabrics.
The best waterproofing for Gore-Tex on the market.
303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard is a favorite among hunters for protection against degradation caused by the sun's UV rays.

◆What is the difference between ``Silicone Waterproofing Agent'' and ``303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard''?
Silicone waterproofing is an inexpensive and readily available product that is commonly used on recreational vehicles and boats.
Although they maintain their waterproof performance for a relatively short period of time, silicone waterproofing agents have the following drawbacks:
1. Silicone-treated fabrics stain more easily than untreated fabrics.
2. When soiled, silicone-waterproofed fabrics are much more difficult to clean than untreated fabrics.
3. Silicone-treated fabrics are susceptible to oily stains and skin oils.
4. Vulnerable to exhaust from barbecues, jet engines, cars and boats
5. Once silicone waterproofing is applied, oil stains on the fabric become impossible to remove. Silicone products are very cheap and are widely used by people who are unaware of their properties.
Genuine fabric protectant (303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard) provides waterproof and stain-resistant properties.
In contrast to silicone waterproofed fabrics, the use of 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard makes fabrics more stain resistant and easier to clean even when soiled with water and oil.
Fabric protectant (303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard) outperforms all silicone waterproofing agents.
● Manufacturer Warranty:
Fabrics that have been treated with silicone waterproofing will no longer be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
(example)
Sunbrella, a signature fabric manufactured by Glen Laban Mills, is fairly well known as a premium quality fabric for outdoor use.
It is used internationally by the world's leading convertible top automotive manufacturers as well as a high percentage of marine covers, bimini tops and boat enclosures.
Sunbrella products come with a 5-year warranty, but if a consumer uses a silicone waterproofing agent on a Sunbrella product, Glen Laban Mills will void the extended 5-year warranty period.
Sunbrella is a premium fabric that is highly resistant to UV light, however it will lose its waterproofing over time with cleaning or prolonged outdoor exposure.
The product recommended by textile manufacturer Glen Laban Mills for treating Sunbrella is 303 Hi-Tech Fabric Guard.

◆Is 303 UV Protectant effective on fiberglass?
Boat owners and campers use 303 to restore luster to gelcoat fiberglass.
As long as you don't remove the 303 from the fiberglass, it will always work.
No more buffing and waxing as you would have to do before.
It is possible to restore some of the shine by using Teflon, silicone, polymer sealants or new wax, but performance and durability will vary.
If you have waxed the surface, there is no need to remove the wax.
Instead, just wait a few weeks - the effects of waxing don't last very long.
Before using 303, polish the surface with compound for a short time.
Compounding will remove the layer of oxidation that has built up.
Be sure to use a rubbing compound (non-wax, non-silicone).
Use ones that contain only the most delicate abrasives.

303 AEROSPACE PROTECTANTEffect on fiberglass

No buffing or waxing required.
Vinyl and gelcoat fiberglass (polyester resin) are plastics that are sensitive to UV rays.

Although manufacturers add UV stabilizers to vinyl and gel coat fiberglass when they make their products, the effectiveness of these protectants decreases over time.
If sustained UV protection is required, UV inhibitors must be replenished.
Colored gelcoat fiberglass is especially sensitive to UV rays.
And 303 Aerospace Protectant is the easiest way to restore color to colored fiberglass.
There is no other equivalent to 303. 303 Aerospace Protectant restores color and luster to like new.
●How to use: Spray 303 onto the surface until it is thoroughly wet (303 will penetrate).
After 30-40 seconds, wipe off excess 303 with a soft, absorbent cloth.

303 does not dry as quickly as wax.
Wait until it is completely dry.
Once the 303 has dried, spray some more 303 and wipe off.
For best results, apply 303 out of direct sunlight.
(Make sure the fiberglass surface doesn't get too warm)
If you apply 303 to a hot surface, it will evaporate before it can have any effect.

Reapply 303 Before you head out (shortly before towing your trailer boat, etc.), spray onto surfaces.
Then, after 30 to 40 seconds, wipe off any excess 303 with a soft, absorbent, dry cloth.
This is a great way to maintain your UV screen and prevent degradation caused by UV rays.
・303 has waterproof and water-repellent effects (beading water).
Dust, dirt and bugs will not stick to surfaces coated with 303 on cars and boats traveling at 60 miles per hour.
Reapply before waterproofing begins to diminish.
The recommended maximum application period for 303 is 30 to 80 days for items that are permanently outdoors.
