Ducati Corse Performance Oil by Shell Advance has been developed using racing experience and is intended to enhance the performance of Ducati supersport bikes.
Ducati has always been focused on providing DUCATI enthusiasts with technology developed at the highest levels of racing and, in collaboration with Shell, has developed new products that utilize the technical solutions of Ducati superbikes to deliver outstanding performance improvements. We are proud to announce the market launch of Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance.
In fact, the Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance oil is born out of Ducati Corse and Shell's 23 years of joint experience in the MotoGP and Superbike World Championships, with the Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance having achieved rider, team and constructor titles in both championships in 2022. He contributed to the signings of Francesco Bagnaia and Alvaro Bautista. This synergy has made it possible to translate materials and technology into series production through technical solutions such as the dry clutch, pistons with DLC surface treatment and Gundrill connecting rods featured on the new Ducati Panigale V4 R.
The new Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance with Shell PurePlus technology can be used on all Desmosedici Stradale engines with dry clutch from the first oil change.
A selected formulation of special base oils and additives to reduce friction reduces friction by 10% compared to the original Shell Advance 15W-50 oil, resulting in increased maximum power output. For the Panigale V4 R with Desmosedici Stradale R 2023, this benefit goes up to 3.5hp, increasing to 4.5hp in the limiter position.
These goals were achieved through a special formulation of additives from the friction modifier and viscosity modifier categories developed by Shell in collaboration with Ducati Corse. The friction modifiers used in Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance create an ultra-thin film on the machine surface, reducing the effects of imperfections and therefore reducing friction. The presence of this additive makes it possible for Ducati Corse Performance Oil powered by Shell Advance to be used only in engines with dry clutches .
The viscosity modifiers used are special polymers often used in racing applications to reduce viscosity under high speed sliding conditions, thus reducing friction and improving performance. At the same time, viscosity modifiers help the oil maintain good protective performance, especially under the most severe conditions of lubrication, such as during start-up. These results were achieved thanks to a rigorous development and testing process at Shell's research and development facility, which was validated and adopted in World Championship racing competition.
For the first time, DUCATI enthusiasts can experience the full track sensation with added power using an oil designed specifically for special Ducati bikes with V4 engines and dry clutches.
This special formulation is intended for special closed-circuit use and requires oil changes every 1,000km or 12 months .
Distribution will begin through the Ducati sales network in Italy, France, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg), Germany, the UK, Spain and Portugal, and will expand to the USA, Canada and Australia in the next few months.
