This Powershare outlet adapter allows you to provide 120V 2.4kW of power using the GEN3 Mobile Connector and the battery of a Powershare-equipped vehicle. To use this adapter, plug the GEN3 Mobile Connector into the charging port of a Powershare-equipped vehicle, then connect the adapter to the other end of the Mobile Connector. You can then use the Powershare outlet adapter to connect electronic devices you wish to power.

GEN3 Mobile Connector

Overseas information suggests that Powershare is possible with the 2026 Model Y Performance and 2026 Model YL, but its availability for Japanese domestic specifications is currently unknown.

→Verification results for the Model YL in June 2026 show V2L is possible, but since it is a 120V 60Hz US specification, 100V-only appliances like dryers that use motors cannot be used. Also, future vehicle updates may limit functionality. Always use under the supervision of a qualified electrician. Since this product is exclusively for US Tesla models, Tesla's official warranty does not cover areas outside the US. This product is for research and development by manufacturers, etc.

⚠️ In the new 2026 Model Y (nicknamed Juniper), V2L (Powershare) hardware is not installed in the standard RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) or LR (Long Range) trims.

According to official Tesla announcements and owner verifications, among the new Model Y (5-seater specifications), V2L is officially available only on the top-tier "Performance" trim and the
Model Y L (6-seater), an extremely significant differentiation.

💡 Why are RWD and LR not equipped?

To draw 100V or 120V AC power from the vehicle, expensive hardware called a "bi-directional inverter" (an upgraded version of the onboard charger) that converts the battery's direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) (the same as household electricity) must be integrated into the vehicle body.

Tesla is a manufacturer that thoroughly implements cost reduction and differentiation between grades, so it designs with the following reasons in mind:

Base Model Cost Cutting: If this expensive inverter were installed in the high-volume RWD and LR models, the vehicle price would increase, so the hardware itself is omitted.
Not possible to enable via software: Although hoped for with the previous Model 3 (Highland), V2L cannot be added later through software updates because the physical circuit boards and wiring are different.

⚠️ Beware of adapter compatibility

Even the "Tesla Outlet Adapter" officially sold by Tesla for V2L will display an error (incompatibility) and refuse to supply power if inserted into the charge port of an RWD or LR model.

Therefore, in the Model Y, the benefits of genuine V2L (Powershare) are currently a "privilege" available only to owners who choose the "Performance" or the 3-row seat long-body "Model Y L".

If your top priority is "using a lot of electricity from the vehicle for outdoor activities or in the garage!", then this is a major turning point in your grade selection.
