This PowerShare outlet adapter allows you to supply 120V 2.4kW of power using a GEN3 Mobile Connector and a PowerShare-equipped vehicle's battery. To use this adapter, plug the GEN3 Mobile Connector into the charge port of your PowerShare-equipped vehicle, and then connect the adapter to the other end of the Mobile Connector. You can then use the PowerShare outlet adapter to connect the electronic devices you wish to power.

GEN3 Mobile Connector

In addition to the 2026 Model Y Performance and 2026 Model YL, US information indicates that PowerShare is possible with the US-made 2026 August delivery Model Y Premium, but this is currently unconfirmed for Japanese specifications.

→V2L was confirmed with the Model YL in June 2026, but as it is a 120V 60Hz US specification, appliances that use a motor, such as hair dryers, designed for 100V cannot be used. Also, features may be limited due to future vehicle updates. Always use under the supervision of an electrician. As this is a US Tesla exclusive product, official Tesla warranty is not applicable outside the US. This product is intended for research and development by manufacturers, etc.

⚠️ For the 2025-2026 Model Y (commonly known as Juniper), it appears that V2L (PowerShare) hardware is not installed in standard RWD (Rear-Wheel Drive) or LR (Long Range) grades. Information suggests that V2L (PowerShare) is possible with the US-made 2026 August delivery Model Y Premium, but this is currently unconfirmed for Japanese specifications.

💡 Why are RWD and LR not equipped? ※

To draw 100V or 120V AC power from the car, an expensive piece of hardware called a "bi-directional inverter" (an upgraded version of the onboard charger) that converts the battery's direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC) like household power must be incorporated into the vehicle body.
※Partially compatible with US-made vehicles from August 2026 delivery for Premium vehicles. Not confirmed for Chinese-made vehicles.
While future functional additions are possible, it is undecided.

Tesla is a manufacturer that thoroughly cuts costs and differentiates between grades, so they have adopted a design that prioritizes these reasons:

Cost reduction for base models: If this expensive inverter were installed in high-volume RWD and LR models, the vehicle price would increase, so the hardware is omitted.
Not software-activatable: Although there was anticipation for the previous Model 3 (Highland), V2L cannot be added later via software updates because the physical circuit boards and wiring are different.

The official V2L "Tesla Outlet Adapter" sold by Tesla is designed to display an error (incompatibility) and refuse power supply if inserted into the charge port of an incompatible vehicle.
