Riding step kit (DUCATI PANIGALE V4 7G)

DUCATI PANIGALE V4 7G 〘 AE-10109 series 〙

Ducati Team KAGAYAMA will be competing in the All Japan Road Race Championship.
We were asked to develop a step bar for the PANIGALE V4R (development code: AE-9080SB "Track Bar")

The special edition equipped with the "track bar" that was deployed in actual combat is now on sale.

This track bar was created in response to a desire from teams and riders, and was created with a renewed awareness of the importance of "step work," which has become one of the most important aspects in recent years.
The grip and edge grip have been significantly improved compared to the previous NEW cut bar, and its performance has been proven in actual competition by Team KAGAYAMA.

Additionally, you can choose between 80mm and 70mm bar lengths depending on your riding style.

Left: 80mm (2024 All Japan Road Race first half spec)
Right: 70mm (2024 Suzuka 8 Hours spec)

Precision machining is used to enhance reliability and focus during circuit driving.

It achieves high rigidity and outstanding grip, reducing slippage even during intense riding, allowing the rider to concentrate on control.
The design is thoroughly focused on improving performance for track use.

This time, the actual race specification has been specially equipped with a track bar as a "Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance ...
This product will be combined with the riding step kit developed with Ryo Mizuno.

Specially designed for DUCATI PANIGALE V4 7G

In keeping with the overwhelming presence of Ducati's flagship model, the V4, the bike was designed to be easy to control, allowing the rider to control it as if it were an extension of their body.

The design combines the simplicity of a one-piece design with a beautiful form that harmonizes with the sophisticated style of the V4.
The right side base is made of 30mm thick aluminum, and the left side is made of 15mm thick aluminum, and each is carefully carved out over a long period of time.
We manufacture and use specially designed products with three-dimensional shapes so as not to spoil the elegant design of the vehicle.
We have paid careful attention to even the invisible back side, making bold cutouts to reduce weight and the load on the vehicle's mounting boss in the event of a fall.

There are four positions available: "0mm forward / 10mm up", "0mm forward / 20mm up", "10mm forward / 10mm up", and "10mm forward / 20mm up".
The design hides the mounting holes, giving the unit a smart appearance.

This position setting fits the tank shape, which is significantly slimmer than the previous 2024 model.
It provides an aerodynamic advantage when driving in a straight line, and when braking, it reduces unnecessary input to the steering wheel by allowing you to plant your foot firmly on the ground.
Furthermore, the design allows the load from the outside knee to be firmly transferred to the side of the tank when cornering.

The pivot bolt for the change pedal is a specially manufactured item with a precise shaft tolerance (g6).
This minimizes play with the bearing inner diameter, resulting in a direct and reliable shift feel.

Furthermore, the step position on this V4 (7G) model has been moved 10mm inward compared to the previous model.
In line with this change, this product also follows a unique design that does not protrude outward.
This allows the rider to adopt a tighter, more aerodynamic and natural riding form, further improving control of the vehicle.
The genuine inner and outer covers for the right step can be used as is.

The brake pedal height can be easily adjusted. The height of the tip of the shift pedal can also be quickly adjusted using a unique, original mechanism. This allows for precise position adjustment to suit the rider's preferences.

●Product specifications

-Reverse shift possible -Adjustable pedal tip -Double ball bearings

■ Position (compared to stock)

Electroless Nickel Plating

"Special electroless nickel plating"

Electroless nickel plating is used for the surface treatment, which is more durable, hard, and wear-resistant than anodized aluminum, and also has a beautiful appearance.
This protects the product from corrosion and minor scratches that occur during use, allowing you to use it for a long time with peace of mind.
The color is "smoked silver," a dull, sophisticated silver that sets it apart from other vehicles and customizations.

The difference between white anodized and polished

You can also find it on YouTube ▶ "AELLA Channel", so please take a look.
→ "About the difference between AELLA Polish and White (Color)"

The difference is whether or not it is "anodized."

Generally, most manufacturers of machined aluminum products sell their products with anodized finish, which increases the surface hardness, making them more resistant to scratches and corrosion.

AELLA offers both anodized and non-anodized products.
We call uncolored anodized aluminum "white anodized aluminum." The reason it's called white is because it looks a little whitish after anodizing.

On the other hand, polishing refers to the state of the aluminum after cutting. When you hear the word polishing, you might think that it is being polished, but in fact it is not.
Please take a look at the photos I took for comparison.

You can see that the surface gloss is different between polished and white anodized.
The white anodized aluminum has a slightly rougher surface, while the polished aluminum reflects light more clearly.
However, unlike a mirror finish, it has a unique glossy finish that can only be achieved by cutting. (Click on the image to enlarge.)

The strength of being able to sell polish as a product

As mentioned above, polished finish has a unique texture that can only be achieved through cutting.
If you like machined items, this glossy finish will enhance your sense of ownership.

So why isn't this polish sold commercially? Because it's more work than necessary.

When cutting parts from aluminum ingots, we try to minimize the amount of material that needs to be cut to keep costs down. We don't cut unnecessary areas such as the back side, and we just anodize it as is. This makes the remaining cuts less noticeable.

Polishing removes a thin layer of skin from all surfaces, even those that don't need polishing. This also applies to the backside and all surfaces.
In addition, the cutting tools used are very expensive. Cheap cutting tools tend to leave a rough cut surface, resulting in an unsatisfactory finish.
Polishing is not anodizing, so all traces are visible.
It takes extra costs to get there, but the result is a unique and beautiful finish, which is one of AELLA's strengths as it produces products that achieve this .

review
・White anodized aluminum is uncolored anodized aluminum.
- Polishing should be done in the same state as when it was cut.
- There is no room for faking polish.

Do you understand about polishing and white anodizing?

I think some people will be interested in the polished finish. We at AELLA are also happy when we see bikes with polished finishes at meetings.

Finally, here is some information for those who are purchasing polish.
Due to its nature, polished surfaces are easily scratched, are weak against moisture and dirt, and are prone to developing white rust.
However, as long as you don't leave it as it is for a long period of time, there will be no deterioration in performance, but it does take more effort to keep it looking nice than anodized aluminum.
In order to keep it in the best possible condition,
- Always keep the surface dry - When wiping the surface, be careful not to get dust on it, and polish with a non-abrasive wax - Small scratches cannot be removed, so if they do appear, we recommend constantly polishing the surface to achieve a mirror finish.
Anodized products cannot be polished, so polishing is recommended in order to enjoy the changes that occur over time.
